3 free websites a year for local good causes.

We design it and build it for nothing. In return we ask for a credit link in your footer, one post about the build, and two lines we can quote.

The exchange

Three things we ask for, agreed before we start.

A studio that gives work away has to get something back, and we would rather say what it is on this page than raise it once the site is finished.

A link
A line in your site footer saying Solaisoft built it, linking to solaisoft.com. One line, and it stays while the site does.
A post
One post on your site and your socials when the new site goes live, saying who built it. We write a draft for you if that is easier.
Two lines we can quote
A short testimonial with your name and your role, which we use on our own site and in our own pitches.

All three go into a one-page schedule with the term and the fee, so both sides are working from the same document.

Who it is for

What makes a good fit.

Read these before you write to us. If one of them is a problem, say so in your message and we will tell you honestly whether it matters.

You are a local cause in Perth
A nonprofit, a community group, a sports club, a school fundraiser, a church project. Small enough that a website is a real problem for you.
You have a website already
Even a bad one. We need something to replace, so there is a before and an after that we can both point at.
Someone can say yes
One named person who can approve the design and the words without waiting a month for a committee.
You are happy with the exchange

How it works.

4 steps, application to live
  1. 01

    Tell us about the cause

Send us your current site, what you do, and who you are trying to reach. We reply either way, and we say why.

  2. 02

We agree the exchange in writing

The link, the post and the quote go into a short schedule alongside the term and the monthly fee, so both sides have the same page in front of them.

  3. 03

We build it and you approve it

You see the design before anything goes live, and it goes live once you have approved it.

  4. 04

    We look after it

$30/mo covers hosting, updates and support for two years. We talk again at the end of it.

Cost

What it costs.

$30/mo

Hosting, updates and support. Two years, reviewed at the end.

The design and the build are given. Content changes beyond one round a quarter, new photography, donation pages and booking systems are not included, but can be quoted separately.

Our standard prices are on the pricing page.

FAQ

Common questions.

Why is the build free if there is still a monthly fee?
The design and the build are given. $30/mo covers what the site costs to run after that: hosting, security updates, and someone answering when something breaks.
What happens after two years?
We talk. You can stay on the same terms, move to our standard care plan, or take the site elsewhere. You own it either way.
Do we own the site?
Yes. You own the domain, the content and the site itself, and you can move it whenever you like.
Is there a catch in the link?
No. It is one line in your footer, the same credit most web studios put on the sites they build. It is how people find us, and it is the reason we can do this for free.
What if our committee will not agree to the post or the quote?
Then this programme is the wrong fit, and we will tell you so early. Our normal prices are on the pricing page.
How many can you take?
3 a year. When they are gone we say so, and you can ask again in January.
Can you add a donation page or an events calendar?
Yes. That is quoted separately, as a fixed price you see before you agree to it.
We are not in Perth.
Ask anyway. We work remotely, and the reason for the local preference is that we can visit and photograph you.

Tell us about the cause.

Send us your current site and what you are trying to do. You get a plain reply either way, and we say why.
